Construction Materials is one of eight different areas that students in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering can study.  Currently, there are 3 faculty members that teach and do research in this area.  Research areas of interest of current Construction Materials faculty include various aspects of concrete composition, microstructure, and engineering properties, and non-destructive testing of concrete.

We have a fine tradition at the University of Illinois for producing well-rounded engineers in the construction materials engineering field.  Our many graduates represent the University of Illinois in Civil Engineering departments and in private industry world-wide.
