Carlos A. Arboleda holds a B.S (National University of Colombia – Facultad de Minas, Medellín, 1994) in civil engineering, M.S. (Los Andes University, Bogota, Colombia, 1996), M.S. (Purdue University, 2002), and Ph.D. (Purdue University, 2006) in civil engineering with emphasis in construction engineering and management. He joined the faculty of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois in fall 2006. Carlos worked for seven years at ConConcreto S.A, a major construction company in Colombia as a resident engineer and later as a financial analyst for construction and BOT projects.

At the University of Illinois, Carlos is teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in construction engineering and construction conflict resolution. Carlos has research interests in vulnerability assessment of civil infrastructure systems, engineering applications in the health care industry, construction safety, application of econometric methods in construction, and financial risk analysis of BOT projects.
