Water is essential to our lives, environment, and economy. Illinois Water Day is an opportunity to be exposed to many of the water-related issues in our world and how scientists and artists are responding. Stop in for part of all of Illinois Water Day on Thursday, April 12th at the University YMCA (1001 S Wright St.)!

4:00-5:30: Experiential Learning Activities – carry your water, eat invasive Asian carp, and taste water from various central Illinois sources.

5:30-7:00: Art and Science Open House – browse an array of water-related artwork and research posters.

7:00-8:00: Grad Student Lightning Talks – listen to four Illinois graduate students tell their research stories. Topics include aquatic invasive species, eco-hydraulics, virus disinfection, and flood-resilient landscapes.

Summer Session is Just Around the Corner!

Once again, the University is asking for your assistance to help connect students with online summer courses and the opportunities that summer session brings. Your role is vital to provide a trusted voice to help students understand the benefits and flexibility of studying online while still enjoying their summer break.  We know that students have many summer study options including attending community colleges or other institutions that may be closer to home, therefore, we want to put our best foot forward to promote the summer online options available at Illinois.

We ask that you:

Encourage students to consider Illinois summer online courses and to review the summer session website online.illinois.edu/summer Display the Summer Session poster in your offices and in a prominent place for students to view. Hand out the summer session flyers to students whenever possible.

(Summer posters and flyers will be sent to your department soon).
