Details: Join Illinois Water Day as we take part in an international celebration of our world's most precious resource, water! The theme for Illinois Water Day 2017 is “Water and the Built Environment”. Join us as we learn more about water infrastructure through the award-winning documentary DamNation, followed by a facilitated discussion concerning water and infrastructure.  Plus, there will be a poster session featuring research from graduate and undergraduate students alike.  And finally, we will have lots of tasty (free) food!  Register now at  http://waterday.illinois.edu/ .

Interested in presenting your research at Water Day? Research in any discipline related to the field of water is welcome. To present a poster, register at http://waterday.illinois.edu/ by March 31st. The Chicago Chapter of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) is proud to announce its Scholarship Program.  Our desire is to help students attain their goal of receiving an undergraduate degree. The focus of this Scholarship Program is students with a desire to learn more about and work in concrete, concrete repair, construction, or related technologies.

Applications and the guidelines for ICRI Chicago Chapter Scholarship Program are attached to this post.  Application responses must be received by 5:00 pm on April 21st, 2017.  The Scholarship Committee will make its decision by April 28th, 2017 and will notify applicants who are chosen.  The Scholarship will be awarded at the annual ICRI Chicago Chapter Annual golf outing on June 8th, 2017. 

This year the Scholarship Committee has decided to increase this scholarship award from a minimum of $500.00 to $2,500.00.

The fifth annual Campus and Community Day of Service is planned for Saturday, April 8 at Memorial Stadium. More than 1,500 faculty, staff, students and community members package 150,000 ready-to-prepare meals. Eastern Illinois Foodbank will distribute the meals to 220 agencies who serve the 1 out of 7 individuals in our community who struggle with food insecurity.  To register for this event go to: http://dayofservice.cuvolunteer.org/foodpackaging
