Project Status Report

Project Abstract | Project Summary | Project Description | Project Status Report | List of Collaborators

The potential introduction of the Strut-and-Tie Method as an alternative design procedure in the ACI code is a major advance for this method both in the United States and throughout the world. The code provisions were published in the June 2001 edition of Concrete International Magazine as Appendix A to the 2002 code. The 2002 ACI Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete is expected to be in print by January of 2002. it is anticipated that many practicing engineers, instructors, and students will soon be searching for information about the STM. Consequently, the current focus of the CAREER award project is the development of the CAST design tool and the production of educational resources.
