Valocchi elected to Fellowship in American Geophysical Union

American Geophysical Union names Valocchi as Fellow.

Albert J. Valocchi, Professor and Associate Head in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been elected a Fellow of the
American Geophysical Union (AGU). Only one in each thousand members is elected to Fellowship each year. 
 
The award will be presented at the Honors Ceremony on May 26, 2009, at the Joint Assembly in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Other events are planned to honor Fellows throughout the meeting May 24-27.
 
The AGU is a worldwide scientific community that advances, through unselfish cooperation in research, the understanding of Earth and space for the benefit of humanity. The AGU has a membership of 50,000 researchers, teachers, and students.  The organization conducts meetings and conferences; publishes journals, books and a weekly newspaper; and sponsors a variety of educational and public information programs.
