A series of cyclic tests of buckling resistance braces has been conducted in NSEL using a 600 kip testing frame. Braces were subjected to fully reversed axial testing at strain levels of up to ±5%. This project was sponsored by Nippon Steel under supervision of Prof. Jerry Hajjar from UIUC and Prof. Toru Takeuchi from Tokyo University. UIUC Graduate student Ryota Matsui was a leading figure in the instrumentation, testing procedure, and data analysis for this project.
