A series of tests were conducted to determine the coefficient of friction of steel-over-steel with a sand-blasted surface finish. A 50 kip clamping force was applied when slip force was induced and was measured using the 600 kip MTS uniaxial testing frame. Two strain gauge-based extensometers were used to measure the amount of slippage.
