EWS has MATLAB information. Alternatively, you can go directly to the MATLAB tutorial. When running MATLAB, type 'helpdesk' at the prompt for a help page on your web browser. Also try the FAQ for more information pertaining to MATLAB.
What editor should you use for preparing MATLAB files? It really doesn't matter, but now EMACS and XEMACS have a MATLAB editing mode. Check out the specifics.
