RESEARCH OVERVIEW :
Research in Dr Werth's group focuses on the transport and fate of organic pollutants in the environment. Specific areas of interest are the partitioning and mass transfer of organic chemicals in soil, surface water, and groundwater matrices.
A detailed listing of current projects can be found under the Research Areas link. The goal of this research is to develop conceptual and mathematical models of pollutant transport and fate in the environment to aid best management and engineering cleanup solutions for both point source and nonpoint source pollutants.

DNAPL Dissolution and Surfactant Cleanup Transverse Mixing and Reactions in Groundwater
Nitrate Reduction Using Supported Bi-Metallic Catalysts Characterization of Carbonaceous Materials in an Urban Watershed
Wetting and Mass Transfer of Organic Chemical Mixtures in Soil and Groundwater Bioremediation of Chlorinated Ethenes
