How to Apply for Financial Aid

Submitting the application for admission, places you in the candidate pool for consideration for all fellowships administered by the Graduate College along with fellowships and assistantships offered within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.  The application includes basic information about you as a candidate, your personal statement, three letters of reference, and transcripts.

For more information about financial aid, please go to:  http://www.grad.uiuc.edu/fellowship/finaid.htm

With regard to financial aid, the number of applicants far exceeds the amount of funding that we have available. Only the most talented applicants who match the research needs of our professors receive financial aid. The selection process is difficult and we are able to give financial aid to only a small number of applicants.

Request for Application Status

CEE will use the email address that you provide on your graduate application to keep in contact with you about your application status. The CEE Admissions Office will inform you of receipt of your application and will let you know which support documents have been received at that time and which documents may still be missing. When your application file is complete and ready to be sent to your area of specialization for evaluation, you will receive an email. As soon as a recommendation on your application is received, CEE will send you another email.

Please be assured that we are processing your application as quickly as possible. We receive a large number of applications and the time we spend checking application status delays the processing of your application. Also, because we receive such a large volume of mail, we are not able to automatically confirm receipt of each mail item as it is received.

If the contact information on your application changes, please send an email message to mpeyton@uiuc.edu.
