Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and AirRail Transit Consortium – JFK International Airport AirTrain - The JFK AirTrain connects John F. Kennedy International Airport to the Metropolitan New York transit system. The 8.1-mile alignment will consist of six miles of single-track elevated guideway, 3.2 miles of double-track elevated guideway, 1,000 feet of cut-and-cover tunnel and 1.5 miles of at-grade and retained-fill sections. The three-mile Jamaica leg of the AirTrain guideway is being constructed in the median of the Van Wyck Expressway.

The Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority – The Alameda Corridor Project - The Alameda Corridor is a $2.5-billion public/private partnership in the Los Angeles area that was completed in April 2002. It improves the flow of freight in and out of the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, the nation's busiest container ports and eliminates about 200 grade crossings. It was selected for the Hay Award from among five competing entries.
