The Sustainability LLC at LAR is gearing up for their annual Sustainability Shorts Film Festival on February 25th at 7pm in the LAR Ballroom. They have a really great line-up of short films from all over the globe exploring topics related to sustainability. More information is available at http://go.illinois.edu/SustainabilityShorts17.

They also have a Facebook event and have been posting information on the featured films on their Facebook Page.

Engineering Ambassadors need your help in advertising our Speaking Competition (April 1st 3-6pm).

A great opportunity for engineering students to shine and improve their communication skills. This year’s theme will be on Sustainability. The deadline to apply is Sunday 2/19@11:59PM.

There will also be a training workshop in communication:

Will be highly interactive. Open to all engineering/STEM majors! Space limited. Engineering Ambassadors will be mentoring participants (lots of worktime during the workshop) Day/Time: Sunday March 5th 9am-5pm (deadline to signup March 2nd) Workshop flier/information coming up (keep an eye on it).

This is an update to an announcement I posted in the Fall. Next Step Ministries offers a summer internship program that allows students to use their skills on the mission field, designing and building homes for communities in need. 

They still have Construction Manger and Construction Team Member positions available. Please see the attached flyer for details on these positions. This could be a great opportunity for a student who has not found a summer internship.
